It isn’t easy being a teen in today’s world. Know that there are people and resources to support you as you grow and develop. We are here to help!
Island Space
Island Space is a movement that promotes healthy lifestyles for teens in Mercer Island. Growing up here is different. There can be lots of demands on your space. Grades. Homework. Sports. Extracurriculars. Relationships. The pressure to succeed is real.
Take Five
“Take Five” is an online tool to support youth mental health and wellbeing. The free and anonymous tool is designed to provide a personal, private, self check-in for youth about their emotional state and coping strategies. The tool gives individualized feedback to students and also provides factual information about what other high school students are experiencing to give students perspective.
Being a teen isn’t easy. Know that you are not alone. If you are in crisis, call 988 for immediate support. For non-emergency, view additional resources to find support.
YFS School-Based Mental Health Counselors
Youth and Family Services (YFS) mental health counselors are available in each of the Mercer Island School District schools. YFS counselors work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff to support the social and emotional needs of students in every school.
