Visit Parenting Mercer Island, a new online tool to learn skills to address everyday parenting challenges such as routines, stress and anxiety, peer pressure, substance use and more. Learn the actions to take and the words to say. You can choose topics based on your child’s age, access resources and learn more about important parenting topics.

Youth Suicide Prevention for Parents

Learn strategies that you can use to help a youth in crisis stay safe and get support. Just like first aid and CPR, this is valuable knowledge for everyone to have in their toolkit to support a healthy family and community.

“TAKE Five” is a free, anonymous, online tool

available to high school students. The tool is
designed to provide a personal, private, self check-in

for youth about their emotional state and coping strategies.
The tool gives individualized feedback to students and also
provides factual information about what other high school
students are experiencing to give students perspective.

One Choice Prevention Message

The Institute for Behavior and Health is reframing the goal of substance use prevention as One Choice: no use of any alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, or other drugs by youth under age 21 for reasons of health. Learn more about the data-driven campaign and tools and tips for parents and caregivers to talk to their children and teens about substance use.
